Offline donations
What is an offline donation? An offline donation is a donation that has been received outside of BetterNow and so will not be charged any BetterNow fees. The donation will be shown on the fundraiser page just like a normal donation. The payment goes through the charity, and the charity is responsible for adding the offline donation to the fundraising page after receiving the donation. Administrators of organisations can choose to receive notification emails to stay informed about activity on the platform. We currently send two types of notifications: New fundraiser created: A notification goes out about new fundraisers created (receive immediately, daily, or weekly). Fundraiser reached end date: A notification goes out when fundraisers reach their end date (receive daily or weekly). As a charity admin, you can also pick the frequency of these emails. As a charity administrator, you have the ability to leave a message for the fundraiser on their fundraising page. Each fundraiser page has a corresponding internal page in your dashboard. On this page, you can see contact info, details on self-donations, and various inputs the fundraiser has made when creating/editing the fundraiser page. In addition, you can make internal notes. This allows multiple administrators to collaborate on managing fundraisers, but also provides a place for a single admin to make small notes about the fundraiser for later. As an administrator of a charity, you can always disable donations (finish a fundraiser) or delete a fundraiser. Always proceed with caution when doing this, and we always encourage you to contact the fundraiser to solve any issues first. It is possible to move fundraisers between projects. In order to move a fundraiser from one project to another, you first have to find the fundraiser in your administration dashboard. On the page for the fundraiser, you can find a button for changing the project. As an administrator of a charity, you can edit any fundraising page. Note: You can't edit fundraisers on the BetterNow platforms, only on white-label sites. To edit a fundraiser: Make sure you are logged in with a charity administrator account. Find the fundraising page. Click on 'Edit fundraiser' in the upper right corner. If a fundraiser donates themselves, we will show this donation just below the progress bar on the fundraising page. If a supporter needs to transfer ownership of their fundraising page to another person (friend, family member, etc.), you can edit the page's owner from the admin section. This is also useful if supporters need to change their email addresses, as this can be done by transferring the fundraiser to a new owner with the same email address (but a different name).
