User deletion
Users can delete their own accounts. This will permanently delete their fundraisers, teams, and name + comment on all donations made, along with all personal information stored in our system.
Important: This action is irreversible.
If you receive a request from a user to delete their account, the best course of action is to ask them to do it themselves. This ensures they are fully aware of the consequences.
How to delete an account
Users can delete their account from their profile settings page.
In the left-hand menu, there is a button allowing the user to delete their account. When clicked, the following screen will appear:
To confirm deletion, the user must type in DELETE
(or the corresponding word in their local language) and press DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
On branded sites, the user is informed that deleting their account here does not remove all their information from your charity's database.
Error messages
If the user receives the error message:
"We are unable to automatically delete your account. Please contact support [your support email] for assistance."
Then the request should be forwarded to us, and we will handle the deletion manually.
Webhook and API
A webhook event is sent when an account is deleted, so you can update your records accordingly.
