How to add additional text in connection with the acceptance of your privacy policy

ou can edit the text that follows the link to your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. This can be useful if you want to highlight specific parts of your privacy policy or set expectations regarding future communication under legitimate interest.

You can change the text from your dashboard: Dashboard → Account → Legal

The text you add in this field will be shown alongside the statement that users accept your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy by continuing (e.g. by making a donation or creating a fundraiser).

The statement can be customised depending on whether it appears during fundraiser/team creation or when making a donation.

This additional text can be used to inform users about how their personal data will be used, especially relevant if you rely on legitimate interest rather than explicit contact permission for future communication.

Note: You cannot change the first sentence of the statement. It will always include a link to the site’s Terms and Conditions and, if added, a link to your Privacy Policy (see here for how to add this).

Translations

You can have the text translated. As with all parts of the BetterNow dashboard, you edit the translation according to the language selected in the top menu bar. For example, if your locale is set to "EN", you are editing the English version. To switch languages, simply change the language in the top menu.

Additional notes

• This setting applies globally across all projects, fundraisers, and sites.
• It is not possible to configure it differently for individual projects, sites, or fundraisers.
